2.6.14 Filter Area

The Filter-Area dialog allows selecting a specific area of the current loaded log-file for further processing. This function is useful especially for huge log-files to separate an interesting area.

[6]  enter a line number if known or use [2]
 arrow buttons beside: 'goto begin' or 'goto end'

[7] enter a text-fragment which shall be searched

[8]  click to search the text-fragment
- if the text-fragment was found then the text panel gets colored green and the
  line-number will be adapted

[9]  'Preview'-panel shows the selected line

[10]  shows the current selected begin- end end-line number as well as the number of selected lines

[11]  the 'OK' button gets enabled if a proper begin and end was defined

After successful definition of an area the following dialog asks for copy actions for the selection.

[1] Filter-Panel
- the selected area will be copied into the filter-result window, the current content
  will be replaced

[2] Main-Panel
- the selected area will be copied into the log-file window, the current content will
  be replaced

[3] File
- the selected area will be written into a file, an appropriate save-dialog gets
  opened
