2.6.16   Decoder Tool

The Decoder Tool can be used to decode and or manipulate data which were copied from a log-entry or from other applications.

The usage of the Decoder Tool prerequisites that a decoder, decoder profile and/or a data processor was integrated, see the 'Note' above.

[1]      paste current selected data

[2]      paste data from clipboard into the message field [9]

[3]      clear the message field

[4]      restore the message in the message field

[5]      select a message pre-processor to format the message in the message field

[6]      click 'Format' button to apply the selected pre-processing

[7]      select whether a decoder or a decoder profile shall be used

[8]      select a decoder or decoder profile

[9]      select a result viewer

[10]   copy selected or whole decoder message to clipboard

[11]   message field - text

[12]   message grid – hexadecimal data stream

[13]   show data in a hexadecimal grid

[14]   show data in a decimal grid

[15]   copy grid data to clipboard

[16]   copy grid selection to clipboard
- via double-click with left mouse-button an area in the grid can be selected
- 'ESC' cancels the selection

[17]   click to start the decoding/processing

Note:

The decoder input must be always a well-formed hexa-decimal data stream. The current data stream which is sent to the decoder is displayed in the message grid [10]
